Mission and Outreach
All throughout scripture we read of God's call to care for those in need, to serve, and to share the good news of the gospel. This compels us as Christ followers to take our faith beyond the walls of our sanctuary and into our community and beyond.
The Mission and Outreach Commission oversees many of the activities that take our vision outward.
The Comfort Zone
The Comfort Zone is an important outreach ministry of our church. Through donations, volunteers, and a partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York we are able to provide needed household items to families in need. On the fourth Monday of each month the doors open at 6:15 PM. Families sign in (services are limited per household) and receive tickets for the evening's gift items: various special items from the "goody table," adult or child diapers, a gift bag (toilet paper, soap, toothpaste, etc.), and a "large" item which varies month to month (laundry or dish soap, shampoo, cleaners, etc.). Guests are invited to share prayer requests and stay for a short time of worship (usually some singing and a short meditation or testimony).
Comfort Zone Notice:
In case of severe weather on a night when Comfort Zone is held, please check with either our website at www.canajoreformed.org, or on Facebook listed under Canajoharie Reformed Church or scroll at the bottom of the local news stations.
Every summer we join with other churches in our community to offer a week of Vacation Bible School (Monday through Friday during the evening). While many of the children already involved in our churches participate, this is also a great time to reach out and invite others from our community to participate with us.
